The Maxim sod kicker is the environmentally-friendly way to cut in a new garden, strip sections of lawn for landscaping, or create a trench for installing invisible fencing. It requires no gas or oil and is noise-free. The sod kicker features a 12-in. blade that removes sod and roots, a lightweight design, and is easy to operate with a simple kicking and pushing motion.

Works great
Can't believe I've waited this long to purchase. Takes a bit of effort but nowhere near what it takes armed with just a spade.
Seems well constructed and blade is robust and sharp. I found that doing runs of about six feet worked best. Definitely needs soft/damp ground to work well.

The sod kicker was easy to use once area was lightly wet down.
Saved half the price of a landscaper and dump fee by doing it myself and having township dispose of the debris.
solid tool, but here are areas that corners were cut.
I could not find a country of Origin marking anywhere on the item or box
handles are half the width of compeditors model, but have bolts installed to hold the wood together at weak point
handles have no protective finish, sprayed a few layers of polly on them for good measure
works good, the paint is sturdy and held up nice
can order a edger attachment nice feature.
