Iron & Oak BHVH2418GX

This Iron & Oak BHVH2418GX commercial grade log splitter is customizable just the way you like it. Please see the options below and build your wood splitter just how you want it. This log splitter will split firewood in both vertical and horizontal positions.

This BHVH2418GX Iron and oak log splitter is built with top quality parts such as Brand valves and Concentric pumps. This model is powered by a commercial Honda GX160 engine. These motors are commercial rated and provide maximum efficiency, performance and power with minimal noise and emissions. Honda engines have a 3 year commercial grade warranty.

Included with this log splitter: dislodger, fenders, heavy duty log cradles and tow cables.

This log splitter is fully customizable with the following options:

  • Log Dislodger - (Now Included Free) A log dislodger ejects stringy logs that stick on the wedge when it retracts. The log will hit the dislodger and self dislodge so you don't have to pull or hammer off the wood.
  • Engine Guard - Bolts to the beam and protects engine from falling wood.
  • Drainzit Oil Hose Kit - Drainzit oil hoses make changing oil easier and cleaner!  Drainzit oil drain hoses allow you to change the oil in your small, gas-powered engine without tipping, dismounting, or modifying your engine in any way.
  • Log Splitter Cover - High quality log splitter cover with draw strings to protect your investment from the elements.

24-ton

I did a lot of studding on several units and ended up deciding on the 24-ton,I really wanted the 30-ton but they don't ship to Ca because of the emission laws. The instructions are easy .I used a tractor to raise the boom because i didn't have help. After 10-hours the unit developed a knock. I called customer service twice and am still waiting for a call back! I took the pump off and ran the motor with no knock's put the pump back on and no knock .Not sure if the unit is going to blow up or not. Customer service is terrible. Unit works better in the vertical positron then the horizontal .It does struggle with knots. So far i,m learning how to use the unit, I can do larger rounds with being smart. I bought the unit because it's Us made, large hydraulic tank, and heavy boom. So far I think I could have got a better unit for the price, Iron and Oak seem to be in the higher price range .When and if the unit wears out I will up grade the unit with a bigger motor ,pump .and ram.

Hello James,

I am very sorry to hear about some of your troubles. I did a search for any emails or phones calls from you about your order and I am not showing you contacted us at all about your order. Maybe you were having an issue with the manufacture, I am not sure. Also please allow a few days for a returned phone call. At any rate now that we know you are having an issue we will forward your information to Iron & Oak to help get your situation resolved as you are under warranty. Unfortunately your state now has a very strict emissions policy basically banning all small engines now pushing you to go electric. Not may large tonnage splitters on the market that are electric as this time. Thanks for the review, we will be passing along your information to help get your situation resolved.

Thanks, WSD

A Nice American Made Machine

I purchased this machine because I wanted to keep the money in the United States and I heard this was a great unit. It arrived in a well-made crate and was very easy to put together. I filled the reservoir with 10 gallons of ISO 32 hydraulic fluid, filled the Honda with oil, and pulled the handle 20 times (prime the pump) watching the ram move at about pull 15 as the pump was primed. I then filled the gas and it started on the first pull. I greased both sides of the beam and split my first cord of oak. I am really impressed with the lock mechanisms that holds the beam in the vertical and horizontal position and the crank idler wheel that levels the unit on uneven ground. The hydraulic control feels very durable and the unit punches its way through logs with eaze. The ram looks very robust and the beam is reinforced with welds on the "top" end and under the entire area of wedge travel. I have used many splitters before, but I have never seen one this "overbuilt". I am sure that I will get decades of good use out of this great machine and am happy that it was built in my neighboring state (MN). Wood Splitters direct had the best price and kept me informed on the status of my order as there was a slight delay due to supply issues. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone interested in a log splitter.

Quality Equipment

The log splitter was straight forward concerning assembly and work instructions provided. It is important to follow the instruction carefully in priming the hydraulics prior to startup. No issues or missing parts discovered. Customer service answered question about using Dextron 3 oil in hotter climates. Thus far I am happy with the purchase.

Happy customer

The word splitter showed up exactly when they said. It's running perfectly and split about 7 cords of very wet stringy wood , some 48 inches in diameter with no issues at all.
