Not a universal plate

Had to get the manufacture to send me the bottom plates to make it a universal plate for my skid loader. I have a case 1840 still waiting on plates from manufacturer. advertised as a universal plate to fit all skid loaders was not now I have to weld bottom plates on so it fits by skid loader.

Hi Eric, thanks for informing us. You are correct the Case 1840 has the older system for attaching. Newer machines pretty much from 2001 have the newer system. Glad to hear you are getting fixed up. We will revise our listing for the Case 1840 skid steers.

So far so good. Arrived fairly quickly. Carrier was very helpful in unload.

Works great. Easy to use. Seems durable. Split 1 cord of wood. Hopefully many more to come.

L3830 kubota tractor

I put the splitter on my kubota tractor,i knew it was meant for a skid steer, i was having trouble handling big pieces of wood, so yesterday i used it to quarter up the wood so i could handle to use with my regular splitter,it was alitte slow as i knew it would be but it did an awsome job.

Hi Donald, glad to hear you are liking the new splitter. We appreciate the business!!

Wow. I received the splitter this morning...

Wow. I received the splitter this morning and like I anticipated, I had to assemble the hydraulic hoses. Within 30 min after the truck left I was trying it out with my bobcat 763. I only intended on using it for a few minutes, maybe an hour at the most, since I had other things to do today. Six hours later I had to stop because I was running low on fuel. I receive logs from large trees delivered to me from a tree removal service. Anything that is small enough to pick up they keep and sell as firewood. They can't handle the big stuff and they give it to me. For the past 8 yrs I have been flipping up my traditional log splitter into the vertical position and maneuvering the big pieces to it with my bobcat pallet forks. I would have to get off and manually push the control lever and I always end up rolling most by hand. I get a pile done and then finish them off horizontally. This in the past was a pain. I sell fire wood also and I haven't been able to keep up with demand because my back won't take it. I have nearly 40 full cords of the large logs already cut to size. Some are up to 3' diameter. They just need to be split. In six hours I accomplished what would normally take me 3 or 4 days.......with-out the backache. I was splitting red oak, cherry, locust, and elm. There was nothing this thing wouldn't split. Naturally it was difficult to maneuver the splitter over a very knotty piece with little for it to "bite" onto, but with a little patience I was even able to split these. I had difficulty first hooking up the hydraulic hoses, but this was probably due to the fact that nothing had been hooked up to my bobcat for many months and the connections were a little stiff (and frozen). This attachment was well worth the price. I would recommend this to anyone. If I were to suggest anything it would be tips on using it efficiently. For example, if you want to pick up a piece to dump in a pile after the final split, you have to be careful not to push the wedge too far. If you do, the piece will split again and fall from the splitter. You have to put just enough pressure on it to pick it up, hover over the pile, then do the final split so it falls in the pile. Thanks so much!!
