Performance Built 20 Ton Kinetic Log Splitter (T20)

I ordered this T-20 Performance Built kinetic log splitter with reluctance because of the relatively low price, and likely made in China made me wonder about the quality. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of engineering, and all components. This machine is a heavy duty build, and built to last. Another great surprise for me was that it came with a 2" ball trailer hitch, not the lawn tractor hitch as shown on woodsplitterdirect.com web site. WoodSplitterDirect should updated the picture. The instructions were very easy to follow, and it is simple to assemble. This is a well engineered and quality built machine. I am a very happy customer.

With only one 75 lb. flywheel rated at 20 ton force, I thought it would be a little under powered, but it splits anything reasonable that I put on it, and fast. I live in the Northeast, heat my house with wood and this machine has all the power I need. It is also well balanced making it easy to maneuver around by hand near the wood pile.

Pros: 2 second split cycle (I timed it), constantly engaged rack and pinion gearing with clutch activation, quality build and engineering, great price compared to others, cleverly designed log cradle allows the log to stay put where you want it to split. This is mandatory when safety requires both hands to engage the splitter. The log splitter was shipped within 5 days and came 2 days later, so I got it within 7 days of order. Not bad!

Cons: None worth mentioning.

NOW that I have worked with the T20 splitter through several large trees, hard & soft maple & an Oak, I can, WITHOUT RESERVATION, highly recommend this splitter for the average homeowner. Fast & efficient and probably the best, KINETIC, log splitter out there ! I absolutely love the clutch mechanism and how the rack & pinion are always engaged. One hell of a good machine! Well - delivery of a pile of parts, completely out of the box and piled on a wooden pallet wrapped in plastic wrap around, was a nightmare ! I , DID, take a bunch of pictures of delivery and made sure the trucker noted the condition of delivery. ME, being a mechanic of the old school, and a military veteran, said to myself, " Well, I'll get through this pile of parts - - - . " After all, I believed , MOST, of it was there. The folks at Wood Splitters Direct , were sympathetic of my plight. They, and, the manufacturer backed up their product 100 %. I received the missing package of nuts & bolts almost overnight, and after assembly they sent me a couple of small parts that were missing or damaged. Now, I am the proud owner of what I think is the best designed wood splitter out there ! Not the biggest, Just the BEST ! Leonard Muller Greenfield Center n y 12833 10/21/2019

Really ? After I have received the T20 wood splitter and used it I will have a better grasp of the subject. I have used a Speeco Kinetic splitter since 2011 and will NEVER go back to hydraulics. This T20 with it's new clutch system and aligned rack & pinion is an improvement over the old system. I, " THINK ". TWT, always does. LJM

I love this splitter. For the money and the speed and design I am a happy camper!
