Best Bang for the Buck

I've had mine for 4 years. This has to be set up so the belt slips a little and when you do you can hit the tough ones repeatedly without the motor kicking out. It is absolutely the slickest machine. You can sit on a piece of firewood and feed this thing all day while sitting. It splits most piece on one stroke in 2 seconds. I've split 25 cord of wood so far. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. As a welder, I did modify it with larger wheels to roll it around my lot easier and I added a table to it this year.

Better than you can imagine.

I have split white oak, laurel stumps and maple directly through knots, wyes, and whatever else. The laurel stumps reset the motor fuse after 5 or 6 hits but they were the toughest wood I have ever tried to split. Fast cycle time, clean, and no maintenance. I would never ever use a hydraulic splitter ever again.

best tool for wood splitting ,...

best tool for wood splitting , you can split wood up to the exact size of the opening and it will still split . You do have to work it tho . Best part too , it`s very quiet compared to hydraulic... The guide rails are the weakest point , so don`t go slamming logs down on it , and watch for slinters getting wedged in the track , that will shut you down . If you have tools it`s an easy fix !!

We bought one of these bad boy...

We bought one of these bad boys about a week ago and it was just delivered yesterday. I can't believe how much power this brute has! I first went to work on the logs that my 3 ton electric/hydraulic couldn't handle and to my surprise, wham bam it's done! Believe me, I was very surprised at the way this splitter handled these 14" logs. Cherry can be a difficult wood to split. It's often "stringy" when not real dry. I'm not going to tell you it didn't struggle with some of these logs, but the point is it did split them. This is a damn nice little machine. You're not going to go wrong with it either!
