Splitter is very well constructed.Tows excellent

Started up on the first try, looks great and works as well or better than it looks. The biggest test its had so far was some really knotty Y joint on hickory and it was a challenge but it got through there with just a couple of tries. It's a compact wood splitter, which is great because you can tuck it away in a little corner or cubby while you're not using it and it not be hogging up a bunch of space.

I just purchased this splitter for my farm property. I split a cord of wood in a very short period of time. Very powerful and easy operation. You should have 2 people to assemble makes the job so much easier. I am very satisfied with the product. If you need to split a lot of wood this is the beast you want.

After a ton of research, I ordered the YardMax YS2865. The shipping was fast and the crating was great (be careful of the crate metal edging because it is very sharp). The assembly was no problem for one guy. However, I would recommend that you put the axel on before trying to move the beam around, like I did. I like the log trays and I am glad I ordered the half beam. It is so easy to work with and it splits oak like butter. I am happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this log splitter!

I did a lot of research before ordering the Yardmax 28 ton half beam log splitter. While the splitter was shipping I read the operators manual (Includes assembly directions) and watched Yardmax assembly and owner review videos. The splitter arrived on time and the crate that it is packaged in is well designed. By following the well written-illustrated assembly directions I was able to put the splitter together by myself. Only thing I did out of sequence was to add oil to the engine first. Some parts (fenders, log stripper) were challenging to get all the bolt holes to align for assembly, but nothing to worry about. Like other reviewers, I found the support leg to be a little iffy. The spring doesn’t seem adequate to hold the support leg in upright position.

This thing is a beast. So far I have split about a chord of seasoned ponderosa pine in an hour. My rounds are ~20” long and up to 30” diameter. The log trays are beneficial, and really reduce how much you have to bend over and pick up wood off the ground.

I purchased a YS2565 (25 ton) half beam log splitter from WoodSitterdirect.com. Upon arrival, I noted to the delivery man that they had sent me a YS2865 (28 ton) log splitter.

Prior to unloading, I contacted Woodsplitterdirect. Fortunately they answer their phones. Upon discussing the error, I was told I could keep the YS2865 splitter and Included tray (I did not order the tray) at the amount I had paid...$999. I was also given the option to decline and wait for the correct splitter. I decided to accept the upgrade.

With about 5 hours (break in oil change time) on the machine, I’m happy with it. Assembly took some patience, but everything was conveniently packaged and fit together well.

The machine runs well and has a lot of power. I’m happy I opted for the half beam as moving it around is a bit easier considering it weighs less than the full beam.

Overall, happy with my purchase.

I had a great experience with Wood Splitters Direct completely answering any question related to wood splitters and ultimately regarding the YardMax YS2865 which led to my purchase.
The order process and delivery was very quick, the packaging was great. Assembly was quite simple due to detailed directions w/ pictures and well labeled parts, the washers were even installed on bolts in the correct order.
I used the splitter initially for a short time and it handled anything I loaded. At this point I am quite impressed by the construction and performance.

Looked around at many different brands of splitters. Wood Slitters Direct had the best deals. They provide good service and the product shipped and arrived on time. Unpacking and assembly was straight forward, even for a 71 year old man, doing it by himself. Machine works great, splitting 18” diameter maple and yellow birch. Smaller stuff is a snap. Great price, great maching.

After reading the reviews and much procrastination, I finally purchased the Yardmax 28 ton half beam splitter. Delivery was speedy and assembly was fairly painless for the wife and I. We have used the splitter 2 times and absolutely love the 4 way splitter and the ram power. My only concern, while splitting 3rd log, the wedge guard bent and 2 welds broke on the wedge guard. (We have not yet notified Yardmax of the issue.) Would definitely recommend this splitter to others!

Great experience with Woodsplittersdirect.com. They kept me apprised of the delivery. The delivery driver was a big help with regards to getting the rather large box to my garage. The yardmax came in a really nice protected crate. It was fairly easy to build and the fit and finish is amazingly good. The yardmax standard accessories, what I consider options, were the 4 way wedge and the log shelf was an easy $100 plus addition with any other brand. The splitter is easy to operate and split anything I put through it, so I extremely happy with the distributor and the product.
