Powered by the skid steer’s auxiliary hydraulic system, the SSH30 delivers up to 30 tons of splitting force without requiring a separate gasoline engine, hydraulic pump, or fuel supply.

The standard horizontal model uses a heavy-duty 5" × 24" welded hydraulic cylinder, tubular steel beam, and 10-inch hardened-steel wedge to split logs measuring up to 25 inches long. Hydraulic hoses with flat-face quick-connect couplers are included for convenient connection to compatible skid steers.

Skid Steer-Powered Performance

The SSH30 does not have its own engine or hydraulic pump. Splitting speed and cycle time depend on the hydraulic flow and operating characteristics of the skid steer supplying power.

Once attached, connect the included hydraulic hoses to compatible auxiliary hydraulic outlets and operate the splitter using the skid steer’s hydraulic system. Confirm hydraulic compatibility, coupler size, flow direction, pressure, and return requirements before placing an order. The supplied product sources do not publish a required GPM range or minimum skid steer pressure.

Available Configurations and Options

Horizontal Model

The standard SSH30 operates in the horizontal position. Logs rest on the beam while the hydraulic cylinder pushes them into the stationary wedge.

Horizontal/Vertical Upgrade

The optional horizontal/vertical configuration allows the splitter to operate in either position. Vertical operation makes it possible to roll large rounds into place rather than lifting them onto the beam.

Slip-On 4-Way Wedge

The optional 4-way wedge slips over the standard single wedge to divide compatible logs into four pieces during one stroke. Installing the 4-way wedge reduces the available log opening by approximately 3 inches.

Log Cradles

Optional log cradles help support rounds and split wood. On the horizontal/vertical model, they catch split pieces while the machine is used horizontally, reducing the need to retrieve wood from the ground.

Optional 30" Stroke Cylinder

A 5" × 30" cylinder is available for customers who need additional stroke length. The product sources do not publish the resulting overall length, weight, or maximum log opening for this configuration, so those measurements should be confirmed before ordering.

Case 1840 Mount

A different mounting configuration may be required for the Case 1840. Identify the skid steer model when ordering so the correct mounting plate can be supplied.

Important Compatibility Information

The universal mounting plate is intended for skid steers using the common two-handle quick-attach system, but it does not guarantee compatibility with every machine. Before purchasing, verify:
