Our Upside down mounted RAM-6Way 30 ton skid loader log splitter is great for splitting the extra large logs that you don't want to even think about lifting. The 30 tons of ram force and the sturdy tubular design beam allows you to pick these large logs off the ground and split them without ever leaving your cab.  The 6 way wedge is made from 4140 hardened steel and will dramatically reduce your splitting time!

For a limited time we are including hoses and standard flat face disconnects with this unit. The standard unit has a 24.5 inch opening.

Please note: You can customize this log splitter:

  • 30" Opening - Increase your opening size by 6 inches to a 5" x 30" cylinder to split longer pieces of wood.

Some assembly is required. Images may slightly differ from actual product if there are upgrades or slight changes made.  If you have a Case 1840 please inform us at the time of order as this has a different mount.

Time saver

Used the splitter to split up Red oak logs with an older 763 Bobcat. The wood was fresh cut, green. On bigger diameter logs (12" or more) you need to nip the top to get the logs split then grab log again lower for 6 way split. On smaller logs I would grab the log set on top of another log, release and grab again in order to get smaller log all the way to the top to get a 6 way split. It is definitely messier, leaving more kindling than a traditional splitter. Only a couple items I would change; the side blades have a single bevel on the cutting edge and bent. A double bevel (which I will grind) would be a better option, I think. The push plate could stand to be a little closer to the main wedge as some logs do not clear the 6-way blades. The hoses need a protective cover and a way to clamp them to the splitter to keep them off of the ground.
Overall, a real time saver. Split a 20' trailer load and a half, of green red oak in a few hours and hardly no handling, pushing, pulling or lifting.

Thanks for the pictures and the suggestions! We will pass that information on. Definitely the smaller the rounds with a 6 way wedge will make smaller pieces of firewood and if your a bit off center then some will come out small. Glad to hear you are happy and saving time!

Thanks, WSD

Absolutely love the splitter

The only thing I would do differently is make the straight part of the wedge about six inches longer, otherwise it is the best splitter I ever owned!!

Doesn’t split very good

I’m back To using my 27 ton champion manual splitter way faster. Would not split six ways. I think I might cut The other five blades off and just have one down the middle so it Has the power to split at least one log

Awesome

This 6 way splitter is great! Strong enough to pick up the tree in the middle so I can cut it up and then it splits very well. My only complaint is that the push plate stops to far from the 6 way splitting wedge. Even red oak gets stuck and I have to push it off with the pile or a small tree by the pile. Other than that I love this attachment. I pick up the log and split while maneuvering to the pile. It splits and loads in one quick maneuver. I have split about 3 cords of wood and am feeling lazy haha.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're so happy to hear that you're loving the 6 way splitter attachment. Keep up the great work and happy wood splitting!

Performed as anticipated.

The only problem I had with the splitter is the wedges are so sharp that they chipped and curled the edges within the first few minutes of use. So far it has split everything I have ran through it.

Hi Lyn, glad to hear your new splitter is tackling your needs. I will pass along to the manufacture your comment about the wedge. Thanks again and please contact us if you need anything else.

Makes my back just smile every time I use it!

This is a nice splitter! It is simplicity itself, and works well. Being a 6 way splitter, it has a little trouble with crotches from cherry trees, but other than that it has split everything I have tried.

It is slow, unless you have a high flow hydraulic system in your skid steer, so you will quickly learn to move the skid steer while the ram is in motion. Bite down on a log, lift and drive it over to the pile while the ram is splitting the log.
Being a 6 way, it has a little trouble clearing the split wood sometimes. It might have been better if all 6 blades were at the same depth. As it is, the vertical blade is about 1 inch forward of the side blades, so the side blades won't always finish the split before the ram runs out of travel. When that happens, I just bounce the log in the pile and give a little side to side motion and it will clear.

If I were making the splitter, I would have fixed it to the quick-attach plate so that the bar could go a few more degrees above vertical. As it is, it gets up about 5 degrees on my Bobcat 763F. If the log you are picking up to split is slightly uphill of the skid steer, the thrust plate will only just catch the top edge of the log. More up angle would help that.

The splitter is shipped upside down on an 8 foot long pallet. You cannot just hitch up to your skid steer's quick attach and lift it off of the delivery truck. It didn't have to be that way.

Over all, I am happy to have bought it, and think it will last a very long time.

Thanks for the review Chuck. Glad to hear you are happy with skid loader splitter!

NOT SO TOUGH

WORKS AS EXPECTED BUT THE RAM PUSH PLAT NEEDS TO BE THICKER AND REINFORCED ON LOWER CORNERS

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate it! We will pass your suggestion along to the manufacture.

Makes Fires Great Again

What a pleasure to operate this unit and be able to have the daily fires for evening enjoyment. This unit does what it says, multiple splits at a time. That's good as it is a little slow as the cylinder is large. But, the cylinder being large also allows it to jump on stubborn logs and not hang up or refuse to get the split accomplished.
Make sure you tell Wood Splitters what unit it will be going on so they can send you the correct length hoses.

Hi Andy,

Glad you like your new purchase! The bigger the tonnage you buy, the slower the cycle time will be. Depending on your machines hydraulic output in GMP will depend on how fast you can split a piece of wood. Thanks for taking the time to review!

Splitters rocks

Worth every nickel…. Do believe it could use another set of wedges on it.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your review. 6 way wedge is the maximum you would want to use in our opinion. Thank you for your business!
