5" Bore • 24" Stroke • Double-Acting • Clevis Mount • Rebuildable Design
Restore the splitting power and dependable operation of a compatible Dirty Hand Tools log splitter with the WSD31-172 Hydraulic Log Splitter Cylinder. Designed as a direct replacement for compatible DHT cylinders that have part number 100211. This heavy-duty component features a 5-inch bore, 24-inch stroke, and double-acting operation for powered extension and retraction.
With a maximum operating pressure of 4,000 PSI, a substantial 2-inch piston rod, and rugged clevis-style mounting, this cylinder is built for demanding log-splitting applications. Its rebuildable construction allows worn seals to be replaced, helping extend the cylinder’s service life.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Direct DHT Replacement for PN 100211
Designed to replace compatible Dirty Hand Tools log splitter cylinders with matching dimensions and mounting points. -
5-Inch Bore
Provides the large piston area needed to generate substantial splitting force when paired with a compatible hydraulic system. -
24-Inch Stroke
Delivers the travel required for common full-size log splitter configurations. -
Double-Acting Operation
Two hydraulic ports provide powered forward and reverse movement for controlled wedge operation and return. -
Maximum 4,000 PSI Operating Pressure
Built to handle high-pressure hydraulic log splitter systems within the manufacturer’s stated limit. -
Heavy-Duty Piston Rod
Features a 2-inch-diameter rod reduced to 1-3/4 inches at the wedge mounting end. -
Clevis-Style Mounting
Double clevis ears help provide secure attachment to a compatible splitter beam. -
Rebuildable Construction
Replaceable seals allow the cylinder to be serviced rather than automatically replaced when normal seal wear occurs. -
Black Powder-Coat Finish
Helps protect the exterior against corrosion, scratches, and jobsite wear.
Mounting and Connection Details
The wedge end of the piston rod is reduced to 1-3/4 inches and includes a 9/16-inch mounting hole. The rear mounting clevis has double ears spaced 7/8 inch apart, accepts a 3/4-inch beam, and uses a mounting pin up to 1-1/8 inches in diameter. Two 1/2-inch NPT hydraulic ports connect the cylinder to a compatible hydraulic valve and hose system.

Important Compatibility Information
This cylinder is not universal. Before ordering, compare the bore, stroke, fully retracted and extended lengths, rod-end mounting hole, clevis-ear spacing, mounting-pin diameter, hydraulic-port size, and port locations with your existing cylinder.
The “DHT replacement” designation does not guarantee compatibility with every Dirty Hand Tools log splitters, just PN 100211. Confirm all measurements and mounting details before installation.
Hydraulic System Requirements
Use this cylinder only with a compatible hydraulic pump, valve, hoses, fittings, and reservoir. Do not exceed the manufacturer’s stated 4,000 PSI maximum operating pressure. Hydraulic installation and pressure testing should be performed by a qualified person familiar with high-pressure hydraulic equipment.
NOTE: Most products require at least some assembly.
