5" Bore • 24" Stroke • Double-Acting • Clevis Mount • Up to 4,000 PSI

This heavy-duty, double-acting cylinder features a 5-inch bore, 24-inch stroke, and clevis-style mounting designed to replace many compatible original-equipment cylinders without modification.

It is commonly used as a replacement for compatible log splitters sold under brands including Huskee, SplitMaster, Oregon, SpeeCo, and Tractor Supply Co. Compatibility depends on the exact mounting dimensions, hydraulic connections, and splitter configuration.

Powerful Splitting Performance

When operated with a properly matched hydraulic system, the cylinder produces approximately:

  • 35 tons of splitting force at 3,500 PSI
  • 39 tons of splitting force at 4,000 PSI

The cylinder’s maximum published operating pressure is 4,000 PSI. Actual splitter performance depends on the pump, control valve, engine, hydraulic pressure, system condition, and overall machine design.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 5-Inch Cylinder Bore
Provides a large piston area for generating substantial splitting force.
  • 24-Inch Stroke
Delivers the travel commonly required for full-size hydraulic log splitters.
  • Double-Acting Operation
Two hydraulic ports provide powered extension and retraction for controlled forward and return movement.
  • OEM Replacement Design
Commonly used as a no-modification replacement for compatible Huskee, Oregon, SpeeCo, SplitMaster, Tractor Supply Co., and other log splitters.
  • Heavy-Duty Chrome-Plated Rod
The 2-inch rod is machined down to 1-3/4 inches at the wedge end.
  • Clevis-Style Rear Mount
Double mounting ears fit around a compatible splitter beam for secure installation.
  • Rebuildable Construction
Worn seals can be replaced, helping extend the cylinder’s service life.
  • Black Powder-Coat Finish
Helps protect the cylinder exterior against corrosion, scratches, and regular jobsite wear.

Mounting Details

The piston rod is reduced from 2 inches to 1-3/4 inches at the wedge mounting end and includes a 9/16-inch mounting hole.

The rear clevis ears have 7/8-inch spacing, accept a beam up to 3/4 inch thick, and accommodate a mounting pin up to 1-1/8 inches in diameter.

Hydraulic Connections

The cylinder has two 1/2-inch NPT hydraulic ports for double-acting forward and reverse operation. Use properly rated hoses, fittings, and a compatible log splitter control valve.

Ideal Applications

This hydraulic log splitter cylinder is intended for:

  • Replacing damaged or leaking log splitter cylinders
  • Repairing compatible Huskee and SpeeCo splitters
  • Compatible Oregon and SplitMaster machines
  • Tractor Supply Co. log splitter repairs
  • Custom hydraulic splitter builds with matching dimensions
  • Upgrading from a non-rebuildable cylinder with compatible mounting

Important Compatibility Information

This cylinder is not universal. Before ordering, compare the following measurements with your existing cylinder:

  • Bore and stroke
  • Fully retracted and extended lengths
  • Rod-end diameter and mounting-hole size
  • Clevis-ear spacing
  • Beam thickness
  • Mounting-pin diameter
  • Hydraulic-port size and location

Brand compatibility alone does not guarantee fitment. Log splitter manufacturers may use different cylinders across models and production years.

NOTE: Most products require at least some assembly.
