Iron & Oak 30 Ton Vertical Horizontal Log Splitter Torsion Axle (BHVH3018GXT)

Over the years I've always been a Hands-on person especially when it comes to splitting wood. Love the exercise and feeling that comes with manually popping a nice big piece of red oak in half with a single swing of the splitting axe or bending a wedge in the impossible twisted piece from Hello. Thats worked well for me up until this year when we had upward of 30-some trees cut and were facing what seemed like years of splitting, moving and stacking of that wood. Now I have a waterstove wood burning system we heat with and my feelings where you can never have too much wood but just not enough time to address it. Thus, I decided to rent a SunBelt 30-ton-splitter which was my first introduction to an Iron and Oak 30-Ton splitter. Now I've used other splitters over the years of every kind and never thought twice about wanting one much less buying one, but this Iron and Oak unit was very different than all those other splitters I've used in the past. 10-minutes into using this SunBelt Rental (BHVH3018GX) Unit I looked at my wife and said the impossible: "I WANT IT: I've Got To Get One of These!"... Upon completing a solid weeks' worth of splitting wood from sunup to sundown I returned this rental and promptly tried to buy this rental. With this unit being near 3-years old and the rental asking $$, I decided I'd be better off purchasing a new Unit which is exactly what I did from Wood Splitters Direct. Stacie was absolutely wonderful help thru-out this purchase and unit was delivered free in perfect condition. I opted to go full out and purchased the Iron and Oak BHVH3018GTX Unit. These do require some Assy but it's very simple. I've not had time to add the near 10-gallons of AMS-OIL Hydro fluids yet as I just had that delivered over the weekend. I'm excited and can honestly tell you that Wood-Splitters Direct and the Iron and Oak Brand are without question the best! Thank you, Iron and Oak, for such an amazingly robust splitter design and for having the best sale team possible in the Wood-Splitters-Direct sales team avail to purchase these units thru.
And, most of all, special thanks must go to Stacie @ Wood-Splitters-Direct who had to deal with my engineering specification driven mind and 50,000 questions and data mining as I double checked and reinforced my initial decision to purchase this unit with some solid hard-core engineering facts. I found a lot about most all the splitters out there for sale thru researching of these Commercially designed and built Iron and Oak splitters... One of the biggest would be how similar other competitors' units initially appear to be until you dig past the looks in to the design specifications. There are no corners cut on design, construction or components that Iron and Oak specifies in their designs. Truly Commerical units with full Rental warranties; that says it all. Toughest of the tough...
Nothing on an Iron and Oak unit is compromised with a cut corner from materials, components, hardware and even labor; all is top-notch.
I guess Imitation is Flattery even in wood splitters....

This is my 2nd Iron and Oak log splitter. I appreciate that it was built in the USA. Assembly was very straight forward and the instructions are good.(I was able to assemble it alone with the help of a mini excavator) I'v only split a couple of cords with no problems! Some of it was large Black Oak branch forks.Split everything I put through like butter! I highly recommend this splitter!

This is my first log splitter and it is perfect for my use! The first time it was used, we split 4 cords of wood! I appreciate that it was made in the USA, and the customer service department was exceptional. I have no complaints at all (or even recommendations for improvement) and I highly recommend this splitter!
